New from DECATHLON
Exclusively at DECATHLON, discover use limit temperatures for your Quechua winter walking and hiking boots!
What is it for?
Quechua and Stratermic can help you choose boots that will be perfectly suited to your use and the outside temperature.
Quechua boots
- Winter walks: cold weather walks on snowy ground with little gradient.
- Winter hikes: hiking on all snowy terrain, with or without snowshoes, from one to several days, over significant gradient.
Temperature tests and calculations
Boots are tested in an environmental chamber to measure their thermal insulation.
The results are compared with a scientific study carried out by an external laboratory.
=> We can define the temperature below which a person who remains still for more than 25 minutes will start to have cold feet.
Dressing for the cold
Choose:
- shoes that don't fit too tightly,
- suitable socks (Forclaz 900),
- a long-sleeved EquareaT-shirt that wicks moisture
- a fleece,
- a warm jacket,
- suitable trousers.
Remember to cover your head and hands, which lose warmth and cool faster than the rest of your body.
